There is a huge attraction to see whenever Brazilian parades and the Carnaval is celebrated. One important element is the Porta-bandeira, which also means flag-bearer. The special person designated to carry and present the flag actually spends a lot of time practicing and brings honor to the school or group he or she represents. Being tasked as the flag-bearer is also one of the most distinguished roles that a person can have when commemorating the samba and Carnaval in Brazil.

Initially, you have to determine the various attributes and skills needed to become a Porta-bandeira. The person has a special function to present in the best manner in front of a judging panel. The samba-schools banner is an important part of the festivities and each of the big schools is represented accordingly. The flag is raised and displayed through a set of motions and what appears to be a dance during the parade. Whenever there is a carnaval contest in Brazil, every samba school should comply with the requirement of presenting the banner during the parade, which occurs either in February or March. Samba is a dance style that is popular around the world and originated in Brazil. Determine the Features of the German Flag

If you check the German flag, you might think about how the flag was first made and featured. The flag is actually full of history and culture. The banner represents the background of the German people while the red, black and gold colors are always seen with pride by citizens.

Reflecting German Flag History

The German flag features three colors, each measuring the same and arranged in a horizontal manner. These are gold, black and red, which are the national colors of the country. Back in history, the flag of Germany did not usually exist in these tones. In 1866, after the Austro-Prussian War ended, the North German Confederation featured a banner with three colors – black, white and red. When Nazi Germany was founded, black, red and white again appeared on the banner.

During the start of the 19th century, the gold, black and red tones that you find today were the same colors used then. When the Weimar Republic started after World War I, the tricolor was also used as the national banner of Germany. After World War II, the flag was chosen as the banner for both East and West Germany. The two flags were the same until the flag of the East was vandalized, showing the coat of arms of East Germany. Germany has since been united so the red, black and gold tri-band was again reinstated.

The current colors you see on the modern German flag stand for republic democracy. The German government became such after the end of the Second World War. The black, red and gold are still seen on the flag, showing German liberty and unity. The tri-band shows the freedom of the country as a whole, as well as of its citizens. Many people view the flag with much pride and respect. It is easily recognizable anywhere in the world.

The Confederate Flag and Its Elements

Even though the Confederate States of America only existed for a short while, these had many flags. One of the most popular is the Battle Flag of the Confederacy. The flag is present on various items such as key chains, license plates and signage. The Confederate flag is also symbolic of racism and ignorance, which is why it is seen by some negatively.

There are people who do not fondly remember the Confederate flag and instead, view it as a symbol of hatred and racism. The laws were set up until the 1960s to help bring in the Civil Rights movement of the 20th century. Other people thought that the flag stands for people fighting for their freedom and passing their own rules without any disturbance from the main government. The same also applies to the controversy surrounding the medicinal uses of marijuana. Although slavery is one of the main things that remind people when they see the flag, it is also representative of liberty and tax. All the rights were actually similar to those being raised by people through a small war during the 1700s. The revolutionary war was all about slavery. Slavery actually did not originate from the south although it existed last in the south.

Slavery is frowned upon by many. The Confederate flag actually stands for various things, especially negative occurrences in the past. It was used by neo-hate groups. The flag must be seen today in a positive manner, regardless of where it is seen and its current appearance. The country was shaped by principles that enforce civilian rights.

Talking About the Afghanistan Flag

Afghanistan is a country surrounded by other countries, namely China, Pakistan and Iran. It is located in South Central Asia and is considered a meeting point between the eastern and western regions of the world. It is a country with a rich history and features a unique flag too.

The flag of Afghanistan has undergone several changes through the century. Some banners stay the same for a long time while others might completely change.

The new flag of Afghanistan featured green, red and white. The color’s width was half of its length. In the middle of the banner is the national symbol. The emblem has actually been on the flag for a long time since the beginning of the country. During the late 1990s or the regime of the Taliban, the emblem disappeared from the flag. There are actually two flags found on either side of the emblem together with the image of a mosque. Under the mosque is a statement saying that there is only one Supreme God, Allah and one prophet, Mohammad. The emblem features a rising sun over it and there are a couple of wheat branches that decorate its sides.

The colors on the Afghan flag were believed by many to refer to a different point in time during the country’s past. The black stripe stands for the time when Afghanistan was occupied while the red stood for blood. The green color represented Afghanistan’s freedom. People will also have their own stories about Afghanistan’s past and cultural background.
