The Colors of the Dominican Republic Flag

In 2001, we went to visit the Dominican Republic from St. Maarten, Paris and Amsterdam. It was our main intention to

celebrate Christmas in a tropical country for the first time. We stayed for span of seven days and lived in a resort just

nearby Punta Cana, a town on the eastern region of the island. This is just on the border of the Dominican Republic

and Haiti.

The Dominican Republic flag can be seen in many parts of the island. It has actually been existent for a minimum of

150 years. It is specifically described in the Dominican Constitution. Article 96 describes the flag as having four equal

rectangles and the colors blue and red. The flag was first displayed in 1844 and is one of the oldest in the world.

Haiti also has a flag that features the same colors of blue and red. The colors signify special virtues and events in the

history of the country. For example, blue stands for the country while red stands for the blood that was spilled by

those who fought for independence and national pride. The same colors are used by other nations in their flags to

stand for the same things and principles.

The Dominican Republic flag also have a ratio of two to three when it comes to the war and state ensign. The coat of

arms of the nation is not presented in the middle. The same approach is applied by other flags. Many people in the

nation speak Spanish.

Characteristics of the Bennington Flag

The Meaning of Liberian Flags

The U.S. flag features thirteen stripes, but the Liberian flag only has eleven. These stripes were used to stand for the very people who signed the declaration of independence of the state. The U.S. flag might have fifty white stars but the Liberian banner only has a single five-point star against a dark blue background.

The white star represents Liberia, being the only free nation in black Africa at the time. the blue background stands for the continent of Africa itself.
