The primary objective why custom flags are made is to represent a person, thing, place, organization or any sort of groups. An example of a very popular flag is the American flag that is said to be made by a woman named Betsy Ross. Flags are used in early colonial times. It is evidently used in nautical journeys by explorers and pirates. Explorers set up flags on their ships to symbolize the territory they represent so that they can be identified by other sailors whether to treat them as ally or enemy when there were encounters. Pirates put their flags on their ships to warn other sailors about battle or death when close encounters took place.

Nowadays, flags come in so many designs. These are ordinarily seen everywhere in our everyday lives, from government buildings, schools, homes and at stores. Other than representing something, these are used for decoration purposes to add beauty and life in a particular place. People have several custom flags just for collection purposes too.

The philosophy of a country is more or less signified by its world flag.

Flag Day of Mexico

Every 24th of February yearly, the people of Mexico celebrate Flag Day.

It is considered a national holiday which gives everyone an inspirational vibe and a lot of zeal and enthusiasm.

The image of the Mexican flag is secured under law and to broadcast it one must ask special permission.

During Flag Day the flag songs are played and sung.

These songs were created by General Lázaro Cárdenas a President of Mexico.

The Oath to the Flag and The Salute to the Flag are the titles of the songs.

The national flag has two types that are used by the state and federal governments.

The main difference between the two flags lies in the Design of Coat of Arms.

The Laws on American Flags

American Flags Protocols

A national flag is a very valuable item because it represents a country. A flag itself can symbolize a whole country and because of that there are standards set by the government by each country for every citizen to follow when displaying a flag. America, for example, has a government that is strict in implementing protocols regarding public display of the American flag. First, the American flag or the United States of America’s flag design is uniform. It must have a total thirteen horizontally alternating red and white stripes and fifty white stars in blue rectangular background at the upper left portion of the flag. Each star represents the fifty states of America.

The American flag, as a custom, is raised all year round in private and public buildings. Flag must be raised properly and must not touch the ground. When a flag is placed by the street directing west or east, the flag must face north. When raised at half-staff, it must first be hoisted to top of the staff then adjust it to lower half-staff level. When the flag is displayed along with other country flags, the American flag must always be placed at the right. There must be no other flag that must be raised higher than the American flag.

The American flag is a well-respected representation of the country. Any form of violation in terms of displaying, producing and printing of the flags are dealt by punishment of imprisonment for not more than thirty days or a fine not higher than 100 dollars, or it can be both.

Luxembourg’s World Flag

Europe is a very interesting continent by having beautiful and unique countries that are rich in tradition and style. When you come to explore the continent and its countries, you cannot help but notice their uniqueness and style through their structures such as buildings, homes and even roads. European countries have a lot in common and one of those is their flags which are usually in tricolors.

The flag of Luxembourg is one of the best examples of a European flag. It is designed with three stripes with colors of blue, white and red equally placed in horizontal manner. Other European flags have equal tricolored stripes but in vertical position. Talking about Luxembourg’s flag, it was first used in 19th century and was adopted on the 23rd of June in 1872, over 100 years later. And similar with other countries, Luxembourg has no flag to represent them not until 1830. Although the flag was designed in 1848, it was not officially adopted.

Luxembourg’s flag is often mistaken with the flag of Netherlands because of its design and the only difference is the shade of blue stripe in which the latter has darker shade.  It can be not that too obvious not unless it is observed during daytime. Other than that, it is a challenge to determine the difference.

Similar with the flags of other countries the flag of Luxembourg is a respectable item that symbolizes the country. There are traditions that must be followed when displaying the flag for public and private use.
