The United States of America is one of the world powers. When people see the United States flag, they usually relate it to power and advanced technology. The country with its stars and stripes are looked upon by citizens with pride and joy because they know how hard their forefathers fought to gain freedom as well as make the country into what it is today.
Regarding the structure and form of the United States flag, there is a small rectangle located at the top right portion. It has 50 five-point stars, representing each of the states of the nation. The inner rectangle has a dark blue tone while the stars are white. The bigger portion of the flag have red and white horizontal stripes. There are seven red stripes and six white stripes, totaling 13. The 13 stripes stand for the colonies that first battled the Europeans who wanted to take control of the country. These were the first colonies who fought British rule and made America a free nation.
The United States flag is often displayed by people in their offices, homes and schools. These are also made into other forms like stickers, hats, t-shirts, posters and badges and showcased on vehicles and walls. There are so many flags seen around the country especially on special holidays. Americans are generally proud of what their country has accomplished through the years which explain why more flags pop up during Independence Day and Flag Day, among others. There are also plenty of national holidays that let people share their sense of patriotism.
