Different Flags Seen on the First Day Back to School

Although many people are quite worried on the things that might happen on the first day of school, it will usually turn out well. Many of your initial anxiety will dissipate after a few hours.

First of all, we begin with a prayer asking God to bless our day and to give us focus to listen to the topics at hand. Next, we recite our “Pledge of Allegiance” to the American Flag and the Christian Flag. Although we did not own the two flags yet, I discovered a number of pictures featuring these two flags on the internet. The kids also say their pledges to the pictures on the computer. I thought then that a Back to School flag might come in handy.

Next, we sat at the school table and read the Bible.

One third grade student did her book work while three others did a classroom-type session. The two youngest students listened to a story and also answered some questions afterwards. One second grade student wrote his answers and did more work after the two others left. I thought I preferred such approach well. A family being educated in such a manner is ideal compared to individual education. We also played with clay and formed letters and other things that began with the letters so we can better master the alphabet.

It was a quite busy day but we learned a lot. I intend to do some more changes in the following weeks. After the language was finished, we had a light snack.
