Consecration of the American Flag

It takes a true patriot and citizen to be able to know and inculcate the value of consecrating the American flag. while most of the citizens would be able to know a couple of basic things to show their love for the flag such as keeping it flying up the pole and never getting it soiled, there are certain specific rules and laws that are made to keep it valued. In a country where federal governance is the way of keeping peace and order, the different states have their own little power to make laws that are despite their exclusivity, are still conforming to the higher authority of the constitution.

For instance, there are some states out of the total 50 there are which goes a little beyond the exclusive American flag only focus. Those that are typically found in the southern states have included laws to also observe the proper treatment and rendered respect to the confederate flag. Due to the historical implication of the presence of the confederate flag, especially during the American civil war, some states are keen on observing the right of representation and anti discrimination.

There are laws in some states that carry a harsher penalty if ever a person is found guilty of desecrating a nationalistic flag such as the American flag. Even state flags are considered to be at par when commanding respect from its sovereign’s citizenry. Some carry a longer term in detention while others are just considered minor offenses and are fined. Nevertheless, one thing is common among all the states – it is to defend and uphold the pride and dignity of the national flags among others.
