I am the mother of five adult children and can say that organization skills are an important aspect to ensure the success of your young ones in school and at home. Teaching such skill will improve how people manage other aspects of their lives. In the beginning, students will learn how to prepare themselves for school every day by waking up at a designated time as well as sleeping at the same time each night so they stay well rested. There are some kids that are great at organizing at such a young age while others will take more time to develop. There are different ways to learn the skill, especially when school is again open. A back to school flag is a great idea.
Start by letting every child pick a color of their choice and use it frequently. By giving your children the option, they will avoid arguments over who owns which item in the house. You can assign each child with an item of the color of their choice or whenever you get an item, it automatically goes to the child who picked the color previously. Children can also write their parents notes using their respective color so that you can easily find out who wrote it. A back to school flag will also help children prepare for school better. Teach your child responsibility by letting them fix their schedules as well as arrange their items for school the next day. Make it a fun activity for the entire family.
