When people in Canada celebrate Remembrance Day, there are several elements and presentations featured. The usual venue is at the National War Memorial in Ottawa. The events start with the sound of the Carillon. As the music plays in the background, several members of the Royal Canadian Legion, the Canadian Forces, Ministers of the Crown, the Ottawa diplomatic unit, special guests and the associate-stately assistant will move along. The anthem “O Canada” will also be played as the Canadian flag is featured in many parts of the venue. Similar to other armed ceremonies, people will put poppies over the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The Silver Cross sister will also place garlands one the pedestal for all the mothers who have children fighting in battles overseas.

In America, Veterans Day is celebrated. In Canada, the Remembrance Day is celebrated, which is a special day for individuals who fought during the First World War. In Canada, Remembrance Day is considered a special event for central government employees and may or may not be known as a general event based on the location. Ontario and Quebec considers it a special holiday, while Atlantic and Western Canada calls it a general holiday.

Remembrance Day is celebrated to show respect to the people who died in battle. It is also a great opportunity for those at home to send gifts and other items to encourage soldiers overseas such as by sending custom flags, toy bears and pictures.
