Identify Important Factors Before Ordering a Custom Flag

1.   Get the size. Size has an influence to how much a custom flag may cost. When figuring out what size is best, consider where and how the flag will be used. If custom flag will be for indoor promotional used or just a giveaway item a polyester material that is low grade will suffice. The larger the flag size is the more costly it can get.

2.   Get the quantity. Quantity plays a big factor to the flag price. Should you plan to get a dozen or more flags, flag makers usually offer a cheaper price due to one-time labor cost. Flag makers are able to buy materials at a cheaper cost too when they order in bulk. A piece of advice, when seeking for a quotation for a flag, also ask how much it will be if you order 5 or more.

3.   Get the right colors. If you think colors do not matter when a flag is priced then you are wrong. Colors also influence the price. The more colors used the price may get bigger but it also depends on how colors will be incorporated to flags. For more than 3 colored flags with a quantity of more than 10 flags, request for a screen printing method. Screen printing is cheaper because color films can be reused many times. Digital color printing is advisable for fewer flags because price can be cheaper especially if less than 3 colors will be used.

4.   Get the location. Location is another factor to price because the type of materials is dependent on where a flag will be placed.

Coming Up with the Mississippi State Flag

Mississippi established its independence through secession on January 9, 1861. When it separated itself, there was still no Confederate States of America. Similar to other states in the southern region, Mississippi stood on its own.

After the separation, the people of Mississippi went back to using an old flag which used to be presented in the old Republic of Florida in 1810. The banner included one white star and a blue field. Because of the blue background, it was referred to as the Blue Bonnie Flag. It was used in a marching song too.

Another name for such banner is the Magnolia Flag, which included one Magnolia tree and a white background. You might also see some versions with a red fringe or bar. The Bonnie Blue picture is also placed on one corner. For 33 years, the Magnolia Flag became the official flag of Mississippi, representing the Confederate States of America.

After some time, people indicated that it was sometimes confusing to distinguish the Bonnie Blue flag from the US national banner. It was hard to point out which flag showed the stars and stripes and which one showed the stars and bars. Also during battle, soldiers would be confused as to which flag was which.

The banner then went through a number of changes to make it more unique and show a difference from the US national flag. the Mississippi flag, although now in a standard size, was supposed to be bigger, with the length twice longer than the width.

The Mississippi State Flag

On January 9, 1861, Mississippi officially removed itself from the Union. At the time, the Confederate States of America was still inexistent. After such secession, Mississippi gained its independence.

Later on, the residents of the state used a flag which used to be displayed in the Republic of Florida in 1810. The Mississippi people featured a flag with one white star against a blue canton. The banner was also known as the Bonnie Blue Flag, and songs and poems were made out of it.

Another name for such flag is the Magnolia Flag, because the banner showed a Magnolia tree against a white background. Other similar flags showed a red bar or fringe.  In one corner, you can still see the Bonnie Blue design. The official flag of Mississippi was the Magnolia Flag for 33 years.

Others shared that the Confederate flag looked a lot like the national flag of America, so changes were made to create the necessary distinctions. Another reason for making the adjustments was that combatants had to look longer and closer to determine the difference between the two during battle.

In the Flag Act of 1863, it was indicated that the flag’s length should be twice as long as the width. The Mississippi flag, however, came in the standard size. One of the reasons was to prevent the enemy from thinking that the people of the state were waving a flag in surrender. The flag you see today is the result of such changes made and continues to be displayed everywhere.

The Minnesota State Flag Features and Meanings

When viewing the Minnesota State Flag, you will first notice the blue field or background as well as the gold fringe and borders. In the middle of the flag, you will see a round logo featuring a yellow border and white background. Inside the circle is The Great Seal of the State of Minnesota. The background of the scenes is the same blue tone used for the state flag. There are also five groups of stars on the flag, four of these include four stars while the fifth group features three stars only. The highest star stands for the North Star. The five groups of stars showcase a five-point star too. Under the round logo, you will see the word “Minnesota.”

People sometimes criticize the way state flags are designed and the Minnesota flag is no exception. Through the decades, some people ask about the symbols and elements on the flag. The Minnesota flag has a lot of elements and the state seal is said to mean “Manifest Destiny” where white settlers are destined to own and dominate the state.

One of the main similarities among state flags is that these are placed on top of residential and commercial flag poles for everyone to see and appreciate. The background is also called a flag field. When the state flag is displayed with the US flag, the former is placed lower to show reverence to the national banner. The Minnesota State Flag Story

The Minnesota State Flag features a medium blue canton, gold border and gold fringe. In the middle of the flag, you will find a round emblem with yellow border and white background. Inside the round emblem, you will see The Great Seal of the State of Minnesota against the same blue tone that is used on the flag itself. There are also flags placed in four areas, each area featuring four stars. There is one bunch consisting only of three stars positioned at the top of the circle. The topmost star stands for the North Star. There are five bunches of stars in all, standing for a five-pointed star. In red letters just under the circle, you will see the word “Minnesota”.

Through the years, the Minnesota flag has been criticized by some because of its design and the symbols appearing on the material. Some people say that some state flags are not well-thought of or well-made. Some people say that on the Minnesota flag, the state seal also stands for “Manifest Destiny”, telling about the story of how white settlers used to dominate the land.

Many state flags are placed on top of flag poles in front of homes or buildings. The blue canton of the Minnesota flag is also called the flied. When the state flag is placed together with the national banner, it is positioned lower to show respect to the official banner of the nation. The Libyan Flag After Gaddafi

The flag of Libya has created a reputation for itself because it shows only one color – green. Compared to other flags in the world which use intricate colors and styles, Libya opted for a single tone, which generally looks good and interesting. The flag was first shown in 1977 after Mu’ammar al Gaddafi successfully ousted the king and became the leader of the country. Although Gaddafi was executed a few years ago, the flag he introduced continues to fly proudly in many areas.

The green design was actually inspired by Gaddafi’s Green Book on Third International Theory. It taught how communism and capitalism can be replaced in governing third world nations. The flag was shown in 1977 and is still the same banner featured today, sparking the interest of many.

Decades ago, Gaddafi and his men were able to overthrow the king through a non-violent coup. However, he did not end up the same way as many of his detractors attacked and murdered him in front of many. The NTC revolutionaries decided that it was time for Gaddafi to end his regime.

Now, Gaddafi is no longer the leader in Libya, but the green flag is still displayed in front of buildings all over the country.

Aside from Libya, other national flags show simple designs, although in two or more colors such as the Egyptian, German and French flags. Each of the colors on the banner represents a place, person or history and tells a lot of stories about the nation’s past.

The Libyan Flag Has One Color

Although majority of world flags feature two or more colors, Libya is one country which features a unique flag. Its most distinguishing characteristic is that it only has one color. The flag was created from a revolution led by Mu’ammar al Gaddafi. Although Gaddafi was recently subject to criticism by its citizens, the flag may or may not be changed by the new government. Many people think that the flag has nothing to do with Qaddafi’s recent acts, so it will continue to be shown in various places in Libya.

The Libyan flag features only the green color, since its introduction by Gaddafi in 1977. Although the approach might seem very basic, one of the main reasons for the single-colored banner was that Gaddafi was highly influenced by his Green Book on Third International Theory. The book was meant to show how such approach can be used in lieu of communism or capitalism in third world countries.

In 1969, Gaddafi and his men overthrew the Libyan King and he became the supreme power after. Although the king was deposed without violence, Gaddafi did not suffer the same fate as he was publicly executed by revolutionaries.

Today, the mono-green flag continues to fly in Libya even though Gaddafi is no longer the leader. The flag of Libya is still a unique banner for foreigners and they take the time to appreciate it despite the very simple look.

Other simple flags are also featured, showing only three colors like the Egyptian and French flags.
