The country which was first to acknowledge the American flag as USA’s symbol was France as these two countries have enjoyed deep relations long way back. France aided the USA in its bid for independence from Great Britain during the War of Independence.

The United States of America has always been touted as a superpower. She is a young nation when compared to the history of her colonial master but is mature in carving out her ideals and wise in the upholding of her freedom. She is admirable as she has emerged from a history of being colonies of European powers to states to a unified statehood of 50 states each having their own autonomy but answering to a common idea of freedom, liberty and justice for all. Her existence today came about from a turbulent past of a colony wrenching from the grasp of her tyrant.

When she started out as colonies, her settlers were immigrants coming from Europe, a collection of adventurers seeking greener pastures, a commoner aspiring to fulfill dreams in the new land, even criminals seeking refuge from his pursuant or hoping for a new start. There were also those who came in the new territory to mask their disgruntlement over the astronomical taxation imposed on them by the imperial powers that be. This sentiment resulted to thirteen colonies rising up and instigating a blood revolution which heralded the creation of a single autonomous United States.

The United States of America is formed by  50 states with different identities and prestige but carved out in history to become a single sovereignty upholding the same ideals. As a reminder of what the states originally were, state flags were created to show each state’s identity, pride and dignity. These state flags became symbols of each state, and became a must for each state subsequently discovered as new frontiers are discovered and established as explorers moved west towards the pacific.

Today , the United States of America has 50 strong states unified under a single federal government. Each state are granted internal governance, upholding sovereignty over its dominion. Each state are mandated that although they have their own degree of autonomy as a state, they have the responsibility to adhering to federal laws and regulations. The autonomy that each state is granted allows them to exercise and observe traditions that is unique to their state , basically becoming a norm and part of their statehood charm.
