The history and story behind each nation is told well by its world flag. The flag colors stand for the principles that shaped the country. Each country, regardless of its people and development feature its own original flag. Each nation features a unique flag with some having very unique stories behind.
Currently, the Mexican flag is also one with a very rich background. The current flag was used by Mexico beginning September 16, 1968 although the design has been present since 1821. The banner features three colors namely green, white and red. Each tone has a unique meaning. Green stands for hope. White stands for unity and red stands for blood. Many Mexican heroes are credited for giving up their lives to free the nation. The layout and virtues behind each color have also altered through the years. The one currently used is actually the fourth national flag of the country.
The center of the banner also features an eagle with a snake between its beak and over a cactus. The seal stands for the Escudo Nacional or Coat of Arms, which originated from the Aztecs. The Aztecs were one of the earliest men to live in North Mexico. Many of the symbols seen today are actually derived from the ancient tribe.
The people of Mexico show a lot of reverence to their national banner by putting their arm over their chest and the palms held in a downward fashion. Others like to decorate their homes or office with the official design and emblem.
