Lighting for Flagpoles: The 24-Hour Display

In some cases, banners and flags are displayed and illuminated 24 hours a day, to keep these attractive and remind people of the special message that the flags hold. Many areas feature flags from morning until the evening, then have attendants take down the flag during sunset. The flags are again set up and raised the next day and brought down at the same time at dusk. When it comes to special buildings and banners like the national flag, there are lighting for flagpoles that will present these in good condition regardless of the time and weather.

There are different kinds of lighting for flagpoles namely flagpole down lighting, solar flagpole lights and in-ground flagpole lighting. The down lighting is installed close to the top of the flagpole so that the lights are facing downwards to illuminate the banner underneath it. Solar flagpole lights may be positioned above or under the flag and feature a unique solar panel which absorb energy or solar power which will keep the light on at night without the use of electricity. The in-ground flagpole setup is installed in the ground, with the lights facing upward to illuminate the flag above.

Many lighting for flagpoles today feature LED lights which will help minimize light pollution. High tech fixtures are expected to last at least 20 times longer compared to traditional halogen lamps. You can also pick from a variety of colors, depending on the design and size of the flag presented. The fixtures are generally easy to install but manufacturers highly recommend that you have a certified electrician prepare the setup.
