If you take time to observe Ghana’s world flag, you will notice the cocoa tree and the mind which stands for the natural resources and agricultural setups that the state is known for. It also stands by the virtues of freedom and justice.
The flag features a lion in the middle of the shield. There is also the civil and war ensign, which tells a lot about the relationship of Ghana with Great Britain in the past. Many years ago, several castles and fortifications were built by European countries all over Ghana. There were over 25 in all, made by the Portuguese, the British and the Dutch. Many people have died while going towards the country from other places in Europe due to infectious sickness like malaria. The Gold Coast used to be notorious as the White Man’s Grave.
Many people from Ghana also had special positions in groups like the United Nations. One great person, Kofi Annan, served as the Secretary General of the United Nations for a time. The economy of Ghana is known to be one of the most fast-growing and stable. It is tagged as a middle income economy with many resources and assets. During the colonial times, traders and gold buyers would come all the way since Ghana was and is still one of the largest producers of gold in the world.
Many groups feature the Ghanaian flag such as the United Nations and many government institutions. The flag was adopted in 1957 and features the colors red, green and yellow, together with the ensigns. These are sold in the United States.
