The Beauty of the Belizean Flag

I have always found flags and flagpoles very attractive and interesting. During my research of the various flags and banners I discovered just how beautiful the Belize world flag is compared to other international banners found on top of poles. The flag of the country today is actually around 30 years old. Before, there was another flag raised and used for 17 years before changes were incorporated. Belize is known as a free state since 1981.

The coat of arms of Belize was first adopted in 1907 although it has already been featured since 1819. The shield also features different items used in the logging industry. Logging used to be the main source of income of Belize for several years. The badge you see on British ensigns actually came from the coat of arms of Belize.

The shield also shows supporters in the coat of arms. A Creole and Mestizo holding a paddle and an axe can be found on the banner. You will also notice a mahogany tree on the crest which represents the motto “I Flourish in the Shade”. A ship which is the same one used by buccaneers a few centuries ago is on the shield. The background hue of the world flag is blue and red horizontal stripes run at the upper and lower parts of the flag.

Belize is a lot more unique than other nations in Central America. It is one of the few states in the world that has a British colonial past. It enjoys very strong relationships with other Latin American nations. The capital is named Belmopan.

Introducing the Belizean Flag

I’ve always liked flags and flagpoles. Whenever I study different country flags and banners I realize how the Belize world flag is one of the most distinct international banners placed on top of poles in current times. The flag of Belize is about three decades old. Before the banner was adopted by the nation, there was an older one presented for almost two decades. Belize officially gained its freedom only in 1981.

The coat of arms of Belize was first recognized in 1907 but it was already existent since 1819. The shield features the different items used in the logging industry. Logging was one of the major industries of the country at the time. The badge shown on the ensigns of Great Britain is actually based on the same one used on Belize’s coat of arms.

You will also find a Mestizo and a Creole holding a paddle an axe, representing the supporters of the shield. A mahogany tree is found on the crest and indicates the motto “I Flourish in the Shade”. A ship is shown on the shield which is of the same kind used by buccaneers during the 1600’s. The world flag also features the color red and blue. The background is blue and horizontal red stripes can be found at the top and base of the flag.

The nation is a lot more distinct compared to other countries in Central America. Belize is the only state in the world with a British colonial history. It has tight bonds with other Latin American nations. Belmopan is the capital city of the nation.

The World Flag of Nigeria

The flags you see in Africa incorporate livelier and more unique colors and elements. Many world flags today are featured on top of a residential flag pole and use the basic materials like steel and wood. A number of nations in South Africa are going through huge growth spurts in their economy which is why they also include certain elements in their banners that would represent wealth and prosperity.

Initially, Nigeria was a British protectorate and then transformed into a British colony. The country was created in 1914 due to the union of the north and south parts. The country gained freedom in 1960 and was included in the Commonwealth. The history of the country is very rich and includes a lot of stories stemming back thousands of years ago. There are several proofs discovered that human beings in the area in 9000 B.C.

The Portuguese and Spaniards exchanged goods and items with the people of Nigeria particularly those that resided just near the beach. Trading of slaves was also common during those times. The Kingdom Great Britain ruled the region during the 1900s for about sixty years.

Nigeria also experienced huge developments in oil trading and harvesting because of the boom during the 1970’s. The country became part of the OPEC and continued to experience huge growths by earning billions of dollars. The Colors of the South African Flag

I am one of the many people who appreciate the world flag of South Africa. The new design can be found on top of different things and flag poles. This has been a usual exercise for about 15 years. The classic national banner was showcased for almost 70 years before the new adjustments were introduced. The use of flags plus other types of display such as wall treatments is always growing. Major flags are positioned on top of very tall flag poles today by different places and countries.

The new flag of South Africa was developed and created by Frederick Brownell. The colors used on the flag are not the same as the known national colors namely blue, orange and white.

When looking at the national tricolor, you will find a variety of elements on the shield. A woman right next to an anchor stood for the Cape of Good Hope, the Orange Free State is represented by an orange tree, wild animals stand for the Natal and the wagon stands for the Transvaal. You will also find a lion with some rods on the crest. This is indicative of the motto of the country, “Strength in Unity”. The Dutch actually presented the old tricolor several years ago.

The present banner is shown from various types of items. Wall treatments will also include some of the usual elements of the flag in various methods. The South African flag presented in current times will feature blue, yellow, red, black, white and green. It is an ensign, a state flag and a civil flag in one.
