The Baby Shower

A baby is a blessing, a new addition to this colorful world, another citizen vowing to be responsible. And a baby is also a symbol of happiness to a set of parents. A baby shower celebrates this kind of delivery because life is supposed to be celebrated well.
Baby showers are actually hard to plan. First, you need to round up an expecting mom’s friends and you also need to gauge their feelings towards her (the expecting mom) regarding the pregnancy. Usually, if it is unwanted, the baby is supposed to be just delivered in silence, no parties, whatsoever. However, if the child is much anticipated, then, by all means, that’s the green light for the party.
Next, you need to have a budget. Baby showers work like common parties: you spend for the invitations, the decorations and other communication expenses. Sometimes you even have to hire a professional planner, if you want the event to turn out to be just the way you wanted it.
Lastly, you need to conceptualize how the party will actually look. If the baby is planned to be christened Christian, it’s nice to see little Christian flags all around the place. If the child already has a given name, use custom mini flags with his or her name printed on it with a pastel hue and put it in the kits, all around the house, or you can even print the invitation at its back.
By now, perhaps you have a lot of things to make sure perfect. A baby shower is a delicate and endearing event. Good luck in planning yours and don’t forget to pray it doesn’t rain!

The Great Jumbo Jet

Flying is always and exhilarating experience. Once upon a time, the thought of flying has spurred the interest of our ancient master, constantly designing different models to emulate the flight of birds. Leonardo Da Vinci once thought of creating flying machines to take him up to the sky and touch the clouds and fly with the birds.
Several designs were made, such as the hot air balloon which became an important tool for scientist during the old times for test flights. But it was Orville and Wilbur Wright who were able to create and apply designs of the first aeroplane. Even if the machine only lasted for seconds in the air it started the revolution that enabled humans to fly at the present.
Today the Airbus A380 is considered the master of the skies. Considered as the largest commercial plane ever built, with its four strong engines I could imagine it gaping tons of air capable of changing directions of airport flags. It’s supposed to cater for more passengers and give them extra comfort compared to the existing planes in the mainstream. I have never ridden on one just yet but im hoping to ride one in the future.
Riding on one is also a painstaking task as well I guess, since as far as I can remember only Singapore air had the chance to purchase one of those. It was reported that British Air is gonna buy 20 of them but to when it will be available is something I do not know. I hope more will be available in the future.
As of the moment, The flight simulator would be enough to fill my imaginations of riding an A380. Taxiing across the tarmac, waiting in line to use the runway and see the airport flag flutter with the wind, that sure is a wonderful sight. The best thing is that I’m the captain and I’m the one to choose where to land again.

The Dangers of the Workaholic Generation

Today, most people are confronted with millions of things to do in one day. For one, this is due to the rise of technology. Before, we were workaholics because there were so many places to go to, so many people to approach, etc. Today, the same deadlines stand, but we are expected to do so much more due to our handy organizers, our multi-tasking cellphones and the power of internet communications.
Lately, more people are also getting sick due to stagnation. Because we eat our meals on-the-go, we usually forget about nutrition. Because we want shortcuts to losing weight, getting straight hair and acquiring fair skin, we use chemicals which harm our health in the long run. The thing is, our lifestyles are getting more and more dangerous.
A lot of programs focus on bringing back the natural state of our health by treatments. But are they enough? If we continue being workaholics, I personally don’t think that our bodies’ conditions will straighten up like street pole banners during elections. Taking care of our bodies somehow seems tiring but we need to do it using little approaches. For example, focus on what you’re eating SERIOUSLY. Veer away from junk food and if you must eat fastfood, try to counter the bad effects by exercising or drinking fruit shakes or eating fruits. If you think you have no time to job, go to the mall and do an hour’s worth of window shopping. Imagine how many calories that would burn! Plus you didn’t have to feel like exercising!
Lastly, get a good night’s rest. Don’t wait for the attention flags to shock you in the form of cough, colds or flu. You don’t want that getting in the way of work now, do you?

College: A Milestone

The university is one of the freest areas in the world. First, you go there by choice, you pick a course of your choice, you pick your subject’s schedules, you choose what to wear, and you can go out of the campus and get in any time of the day. Plus there’s an absence quota, which lets you savor the part of you who is truant and spend some days in sheer skipping – class glory. Waving the college flags just yet?
The freedom might daunt you at first. A lot of kids leave their towns to go off to great colleges which are halfway across the country or a few miles away from home. Remember the time when you were looking back, outside your window and waving goodbye to your family? All you can think about was a cocktail of anxiety and the looking forward to your newfound freedom.
In college, we are designed to enjoy being social and intellectual beings, as every college or university encourages a well-rounded individual. It is like high school, yes, but in college, you are older, more mature and you are forced to be more independent. Statistics show that people who rake high incomes and have fast advancement in the corporate world are also the people who have almost unblemished college records (no matter what the high school records said).
So when you finally go off to college, do not screw up. It doesn’t mean that when you graduate you need to have memorized the 189 Member Complete UN set or you’ve mastered English grammar or the quadratic equation by heart. But it means that you are a totally new individual, capable of making good choices and ready to venture into the real world, the world outside school.

Look Impressive in Pictures

You probably might have heard of a lot of articles which tell you how to look good in pictures. There are pieces of advice about hiding your double chin, smiling with your eyes, standing and sitting straight, etc. But there is so much more than just looking good in pictures. Here, we have a few tips on how to truly impress in pictures. (You can use these tips for pictures posted in your social networking accounts!)
1. You with a hobby. If you’re into playing an instrument, then have a picture of you playing that instrument or holding it lovingly (but don’t make it too fictitious). It paints a you and a passion close to you, making you look like a person who values art as an essential part of life and living.
2. You with a political message. You and political flags will do the trick, but if it’s more specific, like you and a Democrat flag or a Republican flag will surely impress. It paints a principle you, which is always impressive because we like people who are aware with what’s happening in the country.
3. You with the Family. Only a few people are proud of their families AND ARE NOT AFRAID to show so. This paints a you who is sensitive and family-centered, an attitude that most of us value, but most of the time too scared to be labeled a wimp to admit so.
4. You and an achievement. Whatever achievement it is, whether it’s you and racing flags for winning the latest drag race competition, you and a medal for nailing first place in a Science bee or you and a Ms. Illinois sash, any form of achievement is always impressive. It paints a you who goes after what you want.

Holidays! Holidays! Holidays!

Holidays speak of long afternoons, meaningful walks in the park, and, if we have money to spare, shopping. Holidays are like company bonuses, albeit in the form of time and not money. During holidays, we find ourselves resting and lounging, catching up with some things we missed due to work or school. Some of us find it fun, but a number also find themselves bored during such days. Here are some fun things to occupy our holidays:
1. Home BBQ – Grill juicy red meat for lunch or dinner and couple it with beer and a lot of singing! Spend the day with your college buddies. If you’re feeling a little more reminiscing, you can hang your college flag in on the grill side and chat your favorite college moments away.
2. Board Game day – This is a great activity for families. Board games are fun, educational and most of all, cheap! You can drink (non-alcoholic) punch while you’re at it too! Careful not to stain the custom table banner! My top picks are scrabble, monopoly and Chinese checkers.
3. Shopping – Well, if it doesn’t burn a hole in your pocket, go shopping! Reward yourself with new things for working so hard during non-holidays! Give the ‘sale’ and the corporate logo flags some justice now and pull out the wallet!
4. DVD Marathons – Now is the time to make up for all the episodes you missed because you were too busy with your regular drill. This can also double as a movie day! Whip out the popcorn and it’s time to get in touch with your inner potato couch today!
