Messages on Street Banner Ads

The key to good advertising is delivering a message yet keeping it simple. Ads particularly billboards that have lengthy words can be time consuming to read for many people. There is a risk that the entire ad may not be read at all especially if the viewers are in moving vehicles. However there are billboard ads that are too simple with nothing much said but “buy from me”. This is contrary to the creativity that advertising requires.

The same advertising style applies to street banners. The message must neither be too lengthy nor too simple. Similar to road billboard ads people who can see it are often in motion and it is better to assume that people are in a hurry. Therefore, the words must not be long enough to consume time before the message can be understood. Also, street banners are small compared to billboard ads. There is only a little space for messages.

But texts or wordings is not the only focus of street banner ads. Other factors such as design, colors, effects, and size matters too. Themes of ads may depend on a particular season or event that a place has. For example, if it is the season of fall the warm colors of red, brown or orange can add an instant connection to the viewers. The font style and theme too can give an instant message to portray or imply elegance, spunk or fun appeal.

Effective message on street banner ads is a combination of the right words, length of words, font style, themes and colors.
