African banners are referred to by many as historical flags because many of these have been put up on both short and tall flagpoles for many years. The country is a unique case since it has gained its freedom for more than sixty years. You will notice a number of colors and signs on the flag which easily makes it pan African.
The red color on the flag stands for the revolution and the people who helped gain the freedom of the country. The yellow stripe is very reminiscent to Ghana’s former name – the Gold Coast. The yellow tone also stands for the many natural resources. The green tone stands for the rich agricultural resources and setups. The black star can be found at the center with the horizontal stripe symbolizing African liberation.
On the western region of Africa, the country can be found. Ghana is surrounded by Togo on the eastern side, the Ivory Coast on the western side and Burkina Faso on the northern area. Similar to the coat of arms and national flag, the name of the republic is known as Warrior King.
Ghana is 53rd as far as successful republics all over the world are concerned. Many people look up to the country in terms of politics. During the 1950s, the parliamentary democracy was established. Authority was also given to the president, parliament and other political agencies in 1992.
The national flag of Ghana can oftentimes be seen in many special events and casual setups. The coat of arms features a baton, castle and sword to represent power.
