External Factors To Consider in Getting Flagpoles

Check the Wind and Weather. Whenever you check the flagpole you intend to buy, check the usual weather situations in your area. Ask yourself if the place experiences a lot of strong and high winds. Also determine the wind conditions based on height and elevation of the place. Check the adjacent areas to determine if there are any features that would hinder the wind flow. If you have any of these in your area, get a good quality flagpole. Talk to the seller regarding the wind rating of the particular pole you’re eyeing on. The rating is generally measured in miles per hour even without the flag itself. Some people prefer getting a telescoping flag instead so that they can reduce the height of the flag or completely bring it down.
Check if wind is present in your location. You will also need a flagpole that has a higher wind rating.
Check if there are any  features surrounding the area like trees or other homes. Wind may not be an issue. According to the United States Code of Federal Regulations Title 4, Chapter 1, Part 6.1., it is the global tradition to present the flag only from sunrise to sunset on structures and flagstaffs not moving in the open. But, when a patriotic style is chosen, the flag may be shown for a day if properly lighted during the dark hours.
If you intend to present the flag always, you have to set up the right light as well. There are low-voltage voltage flagpole lights that are very affordable, costing only $100 with a photo cell included.
