What World Flags with Symbols Mean

In Afghanistan, the flag features three colors in the background namely green, red and black. The national symbol is found in the middle which is the Mehrab and Pulpit in white. There is a flag on each side. The upper portion of the symbol says, ìThere is no God but Allah and Mohammad is his prophet, and Allah is Great.î

In England, the flag features a white background with a red cross in the middle. The flag is also well-known for the term ìSt. George.î The English banner actually originated from the crusades. Many believe that the banner was first raised before the start of the second crusade.

In Finland, the Scandinavian cross and blue cross can be found against the white background. The blue cross represents the lakes of the country while the white cross represents the snowy climate of the country.

In France, the flag features three colors namely red, white and blue. The flag was first introduced and adopted in 1794 with many experts speculating that the banner was developed during the storming of the Bastille as well as the Royal white.

In Germany, the flag was first seen after the end of the World War II. The new German government showcased the flag on May 9, 1949 which features the gold, black and red color. The flag was made in the Republic of Weimar and the colors speak a lot about the history of the country.

In China, the flag features a big yellow star and four smaller ones on the right portion. The rest of the flag is red. Red stands for revolution.

In Japan, the flag features a big red circle in the middle against the white background. The red circle stands for the sun. The flag was first seen during the 1600s on Japanese ships during the Tokugawa era.
