A special band of motorcyclists have created the MCGA or Motorcycle Color Guard of America to feature their love and support for the United States and its Armed Forces. Soldiers, firefighters and policemen offer their lives to maintain peace and freedom in the country so it is only fair that they receive due credit for their actions.
The Purpose of the Motorcycle Flags
The MCGA aims to pay respect and honor the United States and all individuals in the Armed Forces for offering their lives to keep the nation free from oppression and invasion.
About the Flags of Freedom
Many motorcycle flags feature the Flags of Freedom which are divided into 7 categories:
1. The United States of America
2. Prisoners of War or POWs
3. The U.S. Army
4. The U.S. Navy
5. The U.S. Air Force
6. The U.S. Marines
7. The U.S. Coast Guard
Motorcycles usually feature the motorcycle flags at the back portion of their vehicles. The flags usually measure 3 x 5 feet and are attached to 8-foot poles.
Exhibits and Unique Displays
The Flags of Freedom are usually displayed in a number of occasions depending on the style and theme. The flag presentation is generally included in the program of the following:
1. Remembering the Vietnam War
2. Remembering the 9/11 Attacks
3. Celebrating the Fourth of July
4. Memorial Day
5. Veterans Parades
6. Humanitarian activities
When the MCGA are tasked to feature the motorcycle flags, the display can often be seen at the start of the program or during lunch.
