The Need for Pennant Streamers and Other Symbols

Through time, people – being the social beings that they are have made ways to properly show their affiliation of belongingness to an idea, cause, or group. The idea of belonging or being distinguished to be related with something socially popular or accepted is one way for self preservation. Clans would have emblems and seals, companies would have their brand logos, and affiliates would employ banners and pennant streamers.

Similar to a flag or something of that sort, pennant streamers especially those with the emblem and the name of a particular group are revered as a sacred or at least a very important one. Having it dirtied up, desecrated or disrespected would show the kind of reverence the owners would give it.

For a permanent installation of a pennant, it is important to know the location where it would be placed. Weather, overhead and immediate surroundings should be considered if these would be a threat to the safety and placement of the streamer. Anchoring should also be a concern, making sure that the ground is stable and solid. Some would even consider cementing the base to provide added stability.

So why are these pennant streamers important? It is simply because these streamers, like flags are the embodiment of the group, or cause of people. Some even make it a symbol of pride and prestige, and because of this no self respecting person would allow his identity may it be personal or symbolic be stepped upon by others.
