America is considered as one of the younger countries but has successfully established principles and ideals through the years. The United States was originally only a colony of Portugal in the 1500s but quickly developed to become a world power composed of fifty unique states. Every state presents the same virtues of justice and freedom for all citizens.
The justice and freedom that citizens of America enjoy today as part of a world power were only attained through hard and tortuous methods. Many lives were lost and battles had to be fought which etched modern America into the minds of people around the globe.
America was formed by groups of immigrants from Europe who wanted to start anew. The new citizens were a mixed group, composed of common skilled workers, explorers and even criminals who wanted a change from Europe and decided to see the new world for themselves. The move also showed the people’s disdain for the high taxes ordered unto them by the king. Eventually, the first thirteen groups began a revolution to fight for their rights which resulted to the independent nation they referred to as the United States.
State flags were created to represent every one of the first states. The colonies continued to move towards the west to claim and expand the land area, bringing with them the created flags to present their specific group as well as remind them of their quest for independence and autonomy.
At present, the United States of America is comprised of fifty federal states. Every state follows federal laws and guidelines and has a bigger role in upholding the dominion of the entire nation. The states enjoy a certain level of internal supremacy which is not common in other countries, but every state still needs to uphold and follow federal rules and has a responsibility to America.
The fifty states represented by fifty state flags are united and represent one federal government that values freedom, peace and justice to its citizens and others around the world.
