Personalized Flags are Not Narcissistic

By the sound of it, personalized flags may sound a tad too narcissistic.  However, do not underestimate the amount of influence personalized flags amass. Besides, the flag that you wish to personalize or customize may represent a great cause. They give the entity wanting to be represented more presence.  Flags have a way of telling people, “Here I am” or “I made it here” or “I have succeeded” or “This is our message”.  Just think of the proud tradition flags belong to.  They have a way of boosting people’s confidence.

In a battle, the flag carrier is one of the most protected.  Why is that?  They communicate meaning to people.  They represent something people believe in or are willing to fight for.  When soldiers see a flag waving amidst the battle, it boosts their morale and reminds them of every little reason why they are, and keep on, fighting.  When soldiers see it fall down, they experience feelings of dejection, defeat and even resentment.

The contemporary uses of personalized flags may appeal to people who know how to work the social machinery.  This machinery operates on how individuals tend to behave when an idea is given to them.  People in positions of leadership may greatly benefit from this kind of flags knowing how this may affect people’s behaviors.  Remember that behavior never takes place without the existence of a belief.  Belief drives people to do certain things, a guide for their action.  Personalized flags not only elicit feelings but they also elicit action from the people who witness the flag.
