Flagpoles: Now and Then

The importance and presence of a flag pole in schools and government offices is not a secret. In fact, If there’s a thing that one shouldn’t be missing in schools or government offices then it should be the flag pole as it symbolizes our country when our flag is being raised with it. Now, let us know more about this flag pole.

Flag poles have truck on top of it, this is a block of wood or metal plate used to avoid the pole from breaking. This also acts as the anchor of pulley for the ropes of the flag. There are some instances in which this is thought to be the finial that is a non-functional carved which is put on the pole’s top. An example of finial is a crescent in which our fellow Moslem uses as a symbol of their church.

The halyard acts as the pulley of the flag which enables it to go up and down. Sewn into the flag is a rope that is connected to the halyard for the flag to bend. Attached at the ends of the halyards are Inglefield clips. These clips make it a lot easier to raise the flag in a quick or fast manner.

It’s no doubt that flag poles have plenty of hardware or accessories to make it stable and for it to be able to sustain any type of damaged. This is important as most flags are being raised on flag poles that’s why it should be durable.
