Flags have come into existence thousand years ago even before civilization took place. This is a material useful to send messages. Now, what used to be message flags have evolved into something that represent groups, companies, territories, religion, teams, and more.

Still, flag maintain some of its purpose which is more than to represent something but to give signals just like in maritime situations. Before civilization period flags are used to send signals to others such as giving warnings. Or country flags were often used in naval or military territories only and never used as home decorations. Unlike these days, often you get to see country flags and custom-made flags in or outside private residences, at malls, schools, hotels and many more.

Let me just give random fun facts about flags. The oldest flag design being used today is the country flag of Dannenbrog of Denmark. This was made in the 13th century.  The only country that doesn’t have the traditional rectangular flag shape is Nepal. Its flag has two triangular shaped cloth stacked on top of each other. The largest flag ever waved until today is the flag of Brazil which many people adore.
