The flag of Africa is very unique in its elements and colorful and also it’s meaning.

Many flags are hoisted from a flag pole which is residential in type made from various materials like steel and wood.

Several African countries are undergoing significant economic growth, which is sometimes shown in the different elements on their respective banners.

The country Nigeria was a under British protectorate and then became a colony.

In 1914 the country was born with the coming together of the northern and southern regions.

In 1960 it became an independent nation and then joined with the commonwealth.

The people of this territory and country have a long and interesting history however.

There is certain evidence that proved that humans have been in the areas way back in nine thousand BC.

The Bantu immigrants have lived in the area way back in 1000 BC.

A hundred years ago, explorers from Spain and Portugal were the very first to transact commerce trading in Nigerian area and territory.

The Spaniards and Portuguese have traded with the settlers who lived along the shoreline and also discussed with them trading of slaves.

In the 1900s the territory became a part of the rule under Kingdom of Great Britain until Six decades later when the nation became independent.

During the seventies of the past century, a boom in oil was experienced in Nigeria.

During that time the republic joined with the OPEC and the result was the Nigerian state earned not just millions but billions of Dollars.

Unfortunately the Nigerian people never really profited from this national resource not like some of the high ranking officials in their country.
