The previous year, I went in a flagpole storage facility in the western region of the United States. The
warehouse specifically featured and supplied aluminum and steel flagpoles. Flags have been existent for a
long time and until now, business seems to remain stable in this part of America. I was impressed with the
different items I found inside the facility.
I discussed matters with one of the people who manned the facility after I finished my tour. I asked if they
have any cheap items available for that time. He immediately answered that there were several poles that
have dents, bents and scratches so they can sell these at a fraction of the original price.
One in a while, products and other materials will acquire some form of damage due to problems in
manufacturing and the manner of managing and delivering these. The damage dealt to the product can be
big or small. Customers generally want to get new items in flawless condition but there are also others who
prefer the cheaper versions even if it means having a few scratches or imperfections on the surface.
The flaws found on the flagpole are usually invisible from a considerable distance. The finishes placed on
the poles will be good at concealing the small scratches. You can quickly make the item look brand new just
by treating the surface. Damaged aluminum poles can actually cost a lot less compared to brand new items.
Flag pole suppliers refer to these mishandled items as used poles sold at a discount. Many of these are
made of aluminum.
