Appreciating Jakarta’s Culture

During Mondays, many of the museums are closed in Jakarta, Indonesia. It is ideal to visit on Sunday, since there is a puppet show at the local Puppet Museum. You can also find the funeral of the officer Jan Pieterszoon Coen, who used to work for a Dutch company in the country during the 1600s.

If you are fond of parks, you might like to go to Taman Mini Indonesia Indah or the Indonesia Miniature Park, which spans 250 acres. The whole archipelago features several sites frequented by tourists. Some of the best things to try include riding a cable car in the park. You can find a mini version of the archipelago in a lake. TMII is known as a living museum because of all the different cultures that you can explore during the visit. Indonesia has 34 provinces, each represented by pavilions. All of these feature their own decorations which will give a glimpse of the background of Indonesia. You can also go to other museums around the nation such as Reptile Museum, Indonesian Museum and the Military Museum, among others.
