Basics of Custom Table Drapes

Any fabric that is used to cover the surface of a table for either protection or for aesthetic reasons may be considered a custom table drape. Also referred to as a table skirt, these items may vary in size, shape, and design. There are designs which are elaborate while others may only be a simple color combination. Some sizes may encompass the whole surface area of the table and with overhangs at the edges, while some may only be a smaller sized version which only covers a certain segment of the table, emphasizing on accents. There are some which are deliberately designed to almost have its overhangs or skirts reach the floor, while others may only barely even reach the edges.

Similar to any table cloth, custom table drapes may be perceived to be an upgraded version of the former, preventing food and water to directly come in contact with the table surface. Furthermore, these drapes may also have slits or allowances on the sides to allow chairs and concealed roll out shelves to be placed underneath.

Besides making the center piece such as a table beautiful to look at, custom table drapes also serve as a concealment aid to the chairs that are slid under, or perhaps to the feet and legs of diners as they sit around the table. Custom table drapes also give a more organized feel to the room, concealing anything that could give an illusion of imbalance such as table legs, and anything found underneath the table top.

Both serving function and design, custom table drapes are simply a welcome addition to any table inside any household.
