How to Make Your Own Flag Cases

If you wish to come up with your very own flag cases, you have to prepare the right materials. Start with an angle board measuring 16 3/4 inches from short point to short point. Next, cut the piece with 3 inches extra to leave some space just in case you make wrong cuts. The side pieces have to span 20 inches long. The 6-foot board has to be measured from long point by 20 inches. Use a framing square or speed square for this task. Mark the wood then cut the needed piece. The remaining piece needs to have a short point too.

The next step involves turning the piece by 180 degrees. Afterwards, cut the short point to convert it into a long point. As soon as this is done, the couple of 45-degree angles should properly fit at the top of the display case. You will discover how the grain of the wood properly fits together. Find the right flow of the pattern to match.

The side pieces tend to be long when you put the base piece along the angled side pieces to create the triangle. Just mark the base to get rid of the extra length. Cut at a 45-degree angle so that the pieces will fit properly. The resulting flag case will be short to short angled piece.

Mark the piece that has to be cut as well as the board sides to make accurate results. Tack and strap the frame together for the best results and properly hold it in place.
